  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature (for frosting)
  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon raspberry extract
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons milk
  • Red gel food coloring
  • 1/2 cup blue candy melts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin pan with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat sugar and eggs until thickened; mix in melted butter and vanilla.
  3. Gradually combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture, alternating with milk until smooth.
  4. Divide batter among muffin cups and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden. Cool completely before frosting.
  5. For frosting: Beat room temperature butter until creamy, then gradually add confectioners’ sugar followed by vanilla extracts. Tint half red with gel food coloring.
  6. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes and add blue candy melts shaped as stars on top.
